Sewer and drain inspection and replacement in Humboldt County

Camera inspection, drain clearing, and sewer line replacement.

A drain that backs up once is a clog. A drain that backs up every few months is telling you something about the pipe. The only way to know which one you have is to put a camera in the line and look.

Maples runs sewer inspection cameras so you can see the inside of your own line on the screen: roots, a belly holding water, a cracked clay joint, or nothing at all. Then you decide what to do about it with real information instead of a guess.

Questions

Sewer & Drain questions

Do I need a camera inspection or just a drain cleaning?

If it is the first clog in years, clearing the drain is usually enough. If the same line keeps backing up, or you are buying an older home, a camera inspection tells you what the pipe actually looks like so you are not paying to clear the same blockage again and again.

What causes sewer lines to fail in Humboldt County?

Age and roots, mostly. A lot of homes in Eureka, Arcata, and Fortuna still drain through original clay or cast iron pipe. Joints shift, roots find the gaps, and sections settle and hold water. A camera shows which of those you are dealing with.

Does the whole line have to be replaced?

Not always. When the damage is in one spot, a spot repair can be the right call. When the camera shows trouble along the whole run, replacement is usually cheaper than chasing it one section at a time. You will see the footage and get a project outline with complete pricing before any work starts.
