Plumber in Eureka
Home base. The shop is at 317 W Cedar St.
Eureka has some of the oldest housing on the North Coast. Victorians in Old Town, pre-war bungalows through Henderson Center, and a lot of original plumbing still hiding behind the lath: galvanized steel supply lines, cast iron stacks, and clay sewer laterals running out to the street.
Plumber in Arcata
About eight miles north of the shop, across the bay on 101.
Arcata is a mix of older homes around the Plaza and Bayview, student rentals around Cal Poly Humboldt, and newer construction out toward Sunny Brae and the bottoms. Rentals take a beating, and the plumbing in them tends to get patched more often than it gets fixed.
Plumber in McKinleyville
About fifteen miles north of the shop on 101.
McKinleyville is unincorporated and grew fast from the 1970s on, so most of its homes are newer than what you find in Eureka. Water and sewer come through the McKinleyville Community Services District, and the properties farther out toward Dows Prairie and Fieldbrook are more likely to be on a well, a septic system, or both.
Plumber in Fortuna
About twenty miles south of the shop on 101.
Fortuna sits in the Eel River Valley, a few miles off the coast. Summers run warmer than Eureka and clear winter mornings run colder, which matters for exposed pipe and hose bibs.
